Applications Open for the Naqsh School of Crafts

The King’s Foundation School of Traditional Arts is honoured to collaborate with the Uzbekistan Art and Culture Development Foundation in establishing the Naqsh School of Crafts in Tashkent. Here, students can study traditional arts and earn an accredited diploma, taught by master artists and tutors from the School.

The School is dedicated to celebrating the traditional cultural heritage around the world through education centres in more than 20 countries. One example is Cairo, where the School has worked for over two decades. At the Jameel House of Traditional Arts, students learn from Egypt's architectural and craft heritage, exploring the contemporary application of traditional principles.

In Saudi Arabia, the Centre for the Building Arts launched in 2020 in Jeddah’s historic Al-Balad district. Created at a pivotal moment for the conservation of the city's architectural heritage, the Centre trains a new generation of craftspeople for restoration projects.

Our graduates from Cairo, Baku, Karachi, Suzhou, AlUla, Jeddah and Doha have gone on to careers in craft, establishing businesses, participating in heritage restoration and teaching the next generation of artisans.
